Our Mission
Generations in Tune is a student-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Maryland. We believe that music has the power to bring people together and create meaningful connections. Our mission is to connect seniors and young musicians through hosting senior center concerts, offering music lessons, and encouraging community interactions. Let's make a difference in the lives of others through music!
About Us
Generations in Tune is a community of people who share a love for music and hold the bigger picture in their minds: to share the joy of music with others. Founded in the summer of 2022, Generations in Tune has grown to include numerous volunteer performing musicians and artists. Our group of student volunteers found a way to bring live performances to seniors who otherwise would not have the opportunity to experience them.

Our live performances are designed to lift the spirits and promote happiness and well-being. We are inspired by the connections we make with our audiences, and we are committed to bringing joy and comfort into as many lives as possible.
Our music, our community, and our volunteers.
At Generations in Tune, we focus on the bigger picture: making a difference in our community and in the lives of seniors and young musicians. We believe that music has the power to create strong community bonds. Check out our video to get a closer look at our mission, upcoming projects, and what we do.
150 +
# of live concerts
Since the summer of 2022, Generations in Tune has hosted 150 concerts at local senior living facilities in Maryland. We are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of seniors and young musicians in our community.
At Generations in Tune, we believe that music fosters intergenerational connections. That is why we volunteer our time to bring joy and hope a very vulnerable group that is often forgotten by our society. During our visits, in addition to playing the piano and sharing music, we also spend time talking to seniors and listening to their experiences.

Generations in Tune creates a space where music can connect generations. Every Sunday, we host in-person concerts from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, featuring a variety of talented student musicians. Our concerts not only provide the opportunity to appreciate music, but also build connections between generations. Our team members encourage interaction between seniors and the student performers, making sure that everyone feels welcome and valued.

Virtual Concerts
Our virtual concerts offer a unique way of bringing the joy of live music to seniors who may not have the opportunity to attend a performance in person. Each concert is a recording of one of our live performances or a collection of musical performances submitted by our performers. These concerts are posted on our website for seniors to watch in their free time or for senior centers to play for their residents.
Generations in Tune believes in the power of music to enhance the quality of life for seniors. Music has been shown to be especially beneficial for seniors, as it can capture attention and distract from negative thoughts and ideas.
Seasonal Cards
We deliver seasonal cards to remind seniors that they are cared for and remembered throughout the year. Students create handmade cards for holidays and special seasons, adding personal messages and designs that make each one unique. These cards are then delivered to senior centers, where they bring smiles and uplift the residents. For many seniors, receiving a card is a reminder that someone is thinking of them.
At our live concert location, Brookdale Senior Living, many residents are those with dementia. Generations in Tune believes that music has a unique ability to reach them in a way that other activities cannot. Our musicians bring love, warmth, and dedication to performances.
